 Q. Where do you find your nannies? A. Our best source of nannies is through word of mouth. We work hard to build and maintain relationships with our nannies and they are an excellent source of referrals. Candidates also find us through links to nanny-related web sites, through help wanted ads, and our membership in the International Nanny Association. Q. How do you screen your nannies? A. We begin with a phone interview. If we consider the applicant, we invite them in for a personal interview. Applicants spend 60 to 90 minutes filling out our application documents, which are then reviewed with the applicant by an employment counselor. In the second part of the interview we ask questions about their experience with children and their ability to provide appropriate care for each stage of a child's development. We ask applicants to fully describe what they are looking for in a childcare position and their expectations. When a candidate is successful in the personal interview, their work history will be verified and references checked. If these are satisfactory, they are eligible to enter our pool. When a job offer is received, we perform a background check that includes verification of social security number, search for criminal convictions, and a review of their driving record. State law requires childcare workers to submit a health form stating they are free of communicable disease. Q. Why are your fees a bit higher than other nanny services? A.
